What is the Peyroinyect?
Peyroinyect is a minimally invasive injectable treatment that, in many cases, avoids the patient a surgical intervention to correct the curvature in the penis caused by Peyronie’s disease. It is a treatment based on injections of an active principle called Collagenase, an enzyme involved in tissue repair processes.
What are the risks of Peyroinyect?
These risks include the appearance of bruises, swelling of the penis, pain in the penis and other less common side effects.
One important and serious side effect observed in less than 1% of men treated with Peyroinyect is rupture of the tunica albuginea. This is the main reason why the FDA has approved the treatment with Peyroinyect with the requirement to be carefully managed by an expert urologist, specialised in its treatment.
What are the results?
Studies involving over 500 patients have shown an average of 34% improvement in the curvature of the penis (or a reduction of 17 degrees from the curvature baseline).
80% of patients treated with Peyroinyect experienced an improvement.
