Hydrocele

The testicular hydrocele is a collection of serous fluid around one of the testicles, so that there is a swelling of the scrotum. It is a common problem in new-born babies.

Most cases of hydroceles disappear after the first year of life. However, there are cases that do not disappear spontaneously or cause discomfort or infection, so they will need surgical removal.

Hydroceles that emerged as a result of an inguinal hernia should be removed surgically as soon as possible.
